Just a Quick Note 02/10/2012
We are in a flurry of activity right now. We finally sold our house and have purchased a beautiful home in MO (See our Dream Page for photos). There are boxes all over our house and we can barely get around but I hate leaving things until the last minute so I want to pack everything I can now. The garage has an attached office that will be perfect for our energy center. Donnie and I are adding new modalities to our tool box and we are so excited at the prospect of finally opening our center. We also have the space to host conferences and classes and provide housing, which is something we have always wanted to do. All in all we are very excited and hopefully that will get us through the packing, the move, then the unpacking. Of course we both have different ideas as to what we want to do with each room but that is usual for us and it always comes out great in the end. So here we go, on to the next leg of our journey. Until next time... Cindy Add Comment The Ant and the Contact Lens 09/13/2011
I recently received this story in an email. Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. 'Great', she thought. 'Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry.' She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse 'The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth.' She thought, 'Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.' Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, 'Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?' Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it! Now this is a great story and it came at a time I really needed that message. In fact, I printed the cartoon that was attached and have it hanging in my office. However, I have some questions concerning its content. First, it says that the climbers had just started out and that "Brenda" was at the bottom of the hill. The beginning of the story says she was resting almost half way up when she lost the lens. So what was the lens doing at the bottom of the hill? OK, I know God can perform miracles. I know that without question so I guess He can move a contact lens. But...her prayers were made at the top of the mountain. She was already calm but she still wanted to see the view. So what good was finding the contact at the bottom of the hill? I'm sure she had more at home and by that time she had lost the opportunity to see the beauty at the top. What was the purpose at that point? A good story? Would God do that? Please understand, I am not trying to trivialize this message. I just think that sometimes we accept things without thinking them through. I have always questioned the traditional beliefs of who God is and what He does. This often makes me quite unpopular. But I don't care what it is, religion, politics, or any other aspect in our lives. When someone tells us something we need to question. We need to find real answers for ourselves. Beliefs with no foundation will fall when threatened and believing something without questioning can lead to a mob mentality. I just want to encourage people to think for themselves. Ask questions. Don't take the word of others just because that is how it has always been. God is a wonderful, loving, powerful God and by following other humans blindly I believe we miss out on most of who He really is. I would truly welcome some thoughts on this. Until next time... Cindy Another Day 02/16/2011
Looks like I have been a bit lax in posting here. Unfortunately, we have had a string of challenging situations over the last couple months that have kept me pretty tied up in one way or another. We hope to have a couple of fairs coming up in Springfield in April and I will update the Events section as we have more details. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. Donnie and I decided to wait until last night to visit our favorite restaurant, Bella Napoli, so we could have a relaxing, romantic dinner rather than fight crowds and wait in line. As usual, we were not disappointed. Everything about that place added to a wonderful experience. Have a great week. Until next time... Cindy Happy Holidays 12/29/2010
Well I apologize for being remiss and not wishing everyone a Merry Christmas BEFORE Christmas but "belated Christmas wishes to everyone". I hope your holidays have been wonderful and you enjoy a prosperous and fulfilling New Year. Happy Thanksgiving 11/26/2010
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Being grateful is a powerful tool toward receiving the blessings that God intends for us. Today is a day when we are reminded to focus on what we are grateful for but it is a practice we should engage in daily. Well I hope all of the brave souls out there who decided to participate in Black Friday came out with everything intact. I am not brave enough to go out today. So instead I am sitting here in my jammies with a fire lit, enjoying the beautiful blanket of frost on the trees and ground. It almost looks like snow. Take care everyone and enjoy your long weekend Until next time... Cindy Merkaba Meditation Workshop and the evil GPS 11/18/2010
Donnie and I attended a Mekaba Meditation workshop last weekend. These are based on the Flower of Life books by Drunvalo Melchizedek. It was a wonderful experience. We learned to spin our Merkaba and it was a great heart-opening experience. We stayed at the home of the hosts, a wonderful, magical place called Rainbow Road. Our facilitator, Debbi Pettis was also a gem. If you ever have the chance to take a workshop with Debbi I highly recommend it. She is out of Kansas but travels somewhat. I don't understand much about sacred geometry, especially when they start spewing out the numbers and such but it is still an unforgettable experience and and acutal understanding of the geometry isn't necessary to spin the Merkaba. Oh, and one of the things I always ask...does it work, how is it useful...what it the purpose? I'm sure this has more far reaching purposes than I can comprehend right now but I can attest to one thing. Spinning the Merkaba has a protective energy. I went into Walmart the other day. As usual, it was very crowded. Usually I come out of there feeling like I need to go straight to an asylum, but on this particular trip I realized that I was mostly unaffected by the energy around me. Placebo effect? Maybe, but as I said in an earlier post, who But...despite our wonderful experience, the trip was, to say the least, interesting. Donnie just got a new GPS. This was the perfect opportunity to try it out and break it in. Well, mistrusting soul that I am when it comes to electronics, I went ahead and printed a Mapquest anyway. I also made the assumption (you know what they say about assuming) that the GPS would be taking us the same way as the Mapquest. On our way up there on Thursday it was raining hard, making it difficult to see. Since I was driving I was concentrating on getting us to Kansas in one piece rather than babysitting the GPS and as much as I love him, Donnie is not the world's greatest navigator. We ended up stopping sooner than we wanted because the weather was just too bad to go on at night. Well...that was when I discovered that our dear GPS was taking us directly into Kansas City enroute to a destination south of Topeka. Check your map...makes perfect sense I guess...if you are a GPS. So I am driving (very slowly) through Kansas City at 7:00 am on Friday morning. We did finally make it with no breakfast and about 10 minutest to spare. So, on the way home I decided to be the navigator. We set the GPS and I got the mapquest out. She argued with me for about the first 50 miles then finally gave up and decided we weren't going to exit so we could go through Kansas City again. Other than a small incident of a non-existent restaurant that was supposedly on top of a bridge, I really thought I had won this one. Then we got home. We had stuff to do so I asked Donnie to take in the groceries and luggage while I fed the cats, and gave them their meds and cleaned out the litter box and started the laundry. That little hussie hid a part of herself and of course, Donnie had to take care of her first. You know those electronics are really important and need his care. So I brought the stuff in myself after completing the tasks above. I guess she got the last word in this time. She now has a name which, due to the fact that I want to keep this site fairly clean I will not repeat here. And of course, there is always next time... Cindy Another Fair Over 10/05/2010
Well, we have another fair behind us. This one had a very different energy than any other we have been to. As always, we met a lot of great people, including reconnecting with some from our area. Amazing how we have made more local contacts in Springfield than we have been able to make here. I bought some wire while I was there that has been imprinted using a Rife machine with a frequency for energy. I was given a bracelet made with this wire a few months ago and felt like it really did help my energy level. I am going to try to make some rings with this and as I can make these adjustable, I may be able to offer them on the web site. I know...I know...I said I was going to get the jewelry online too but still haven't. Problem there is that I just can't make stuff that all looks alike. I have to be creative and now I probably have almost 100 pieces and haven't had the time to photograph anything. Ok, looks like it is time for me to head to work now. Until next time... Cindy I am so excited about our fair this weekend. This is going to be the biggest one yet. Looks like we have a lot of new vendors from all over the place. I hope some of you can come and see us there. I have a lot of new magnetite jewelry to introduce, along with the gemstone rings and other products. Getting ready was a bit of a challenge this time. For some reason there have been a few gliches, including my silver rods giving out, running out of clasps for my jewelry and a very stubborn package of lavender that did not seem to want to leave Virginia. But you all will be proud to know that I have handled it with patience and faith (two things I am working on right now)-well for the most part anyway. Everything should be here today and I took the day off work tomorrow so I can get it all done. By the way, if you do happen to come by this weekend mention this blog and I will give you 10% off any product at our booth. I use 10% because I have questionable math skills and that is an easy one. Anyway, hope to see you there. Until next time Cindy Spirit Fair in Springfield Over 07/27/2010
We had a great time this last weekend at Cyndy Green's Spirit Fair in Springfield. If you ever get the chance to go to one of her fairs be sure to check out her Angel billets. You will be amazed!!! I promise you that. We didn't make much money but as always, we met a lot of new people and were able to help some people that were unemployed or just couldn't afford to pay us. You know, money can't even compare to the feeling you get when someone appreciates what you give them because they don't know where else to turn. It is an awesome gift to both of us. Don't get me wrong, I like money too but it's not always about that. I also discovered a product that I am going to look further in to and hopefully be able to sell or at least recommend. There was a lady there selling Magnesium in gel, oil, bath salt and possibly other forms. I bought some, $12 for a 16 oz bottle, not bad. You put about 2 TBS in the liquid soap and you can then absorb it transdermally (is that a word? well you know what I mean) so it will last for a while. It made the Dr Bronner's soap we use very creamy also. Magnesium is always an issue for me and it makes such a difference both physically and emotionally. Well anyway...until next time... Cindy Magnetite and the Placebo Effect 07/16/2010
Still wearing my magnetite jewelry. I have also been doing some research on the subject and this is the conclusion I have come to. It seems to be very effective for aches and pains, back aches, sore muscles and even sprains and strains, etc. (this make sense as it is claimed that it works by increasing circulation). More serious things seem to be questionable. There was a lot of discussion on some of the "quackery" sites about it having a placebo effect which got me to thinking. What if it does? My daughter and I have often discussed this and I always say if it works it works. It doesn't matter how it works if it works and works safely. Now this doesn't apply to life-threatening or other chronic illness where lack of treatment can cause serious problems or death, but when people have aches and pains they just want to feel better. Most allopathic medicine does not get to the root cause and cure such problems. They simply treat the symptoms which can cover up the real real issue. Natural medicine helps the body actually heal itself. If magnetite can make my back stop hurting or my leg cramps go away (it has done that for me) then I think I will opt for that, believing that, since I have put nothing foreign in my body it is my body attempting to right itself. It scares me that we have so been brainwashed into thinking that the only way we can heal is if we put poisonous medications into our body or let a surgeon cut us open. I know many people that think natural medicine is something crazy or even demonic. They would rather take the chance of serious and debilitating side effects than even consider anything natural, despite the fact that the most serious side effect of natural healing would be that it probably just did not work for that person. Anyway, let me know what you think. Until next time Cindy |
